End of September....

We drove to Troyes in Champagne last Saturday and had the most wonderful day there. We ate in Bourgogne opposite the main marche. It is the best restaurant in Troyes - with one michelin star and it is small. I would highly recommend you book before you get there. Service was rather French but food was delicious. We ate the best steaks with girolle. The starters were rather forgettable. The puddings were to die for - I ate a bowl of mixed berries chilled with some amazing almond icecream and my husband had some icecream with a sugar crust at the bottom that was delicious....
Then went on to walk in this beautiful city - headed to Marques Avenue - where there are several brand names that sell products at a much lower price than regular high street prices.
This is worth visiting if you are in the area. It is not as nice as Biscester Village near Oxford. However several French brands like Olivier Desforges, Georges Rech etc are there. Make no mistake this is not a tiny mall - (perhaps tiny only compared to the gigantic US malls).
The drive back to Paris was beautiful - the day was a stunning autumn day - we went by several champagne sellers....................
