How do most of the developed world survive without guns?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4370617.stm

It is raining here in Paris but I am happy because I...

have Carolina on my mind..... no actually I have TWO Carolina Butter Crunch Toffee (White chocolate pecan covered - THE BEST) tins from a vary dear and caring friend - who is my usual supplier and who introduced these to me a year ago and thereafter I got terribly addicted. I am so appreciative that she sent me two large tins (should last at least two months) with other really thoughtful things for my birthday.

Other than that - Paris is still lively and people have brought out their summer clothes but this is the time of year when I really never know what to wear. It is not really warm nor is it freezing - ideal temperature to fall ill.

Take care friends and have a great week.

Fog in Paris...

It is one of those days when really dense fog makes staying in rather romantic and driving next to impossible. I cannot see the Teiffel today but I hope it will clear. Anyways, in my case it will be a busyish day. We are planning to visit a friend in the 6th and then eat somewhere locally. I want to browse some bookstores near Cluny (one of my favourite museums). It is a great area for bookstores (thanks to Sorbonne and other unversities there) if you can look past all the ahem... tourists.
Will upload some more photos of this week soon.
Have a great weekend!

The most gorgeous day in Paris so far...

in 2005! The weather is lovely - good enough to sit out on the terraces and enjoy a glass of wine or coffee. I went to Louvre today to meet some friends and realised that it was about 20 degrees C!! It feels good to be here and I took a few photos which I will upload soonish. The trees are still bare but hey that does not mean that we cannot enjoy spring a bit earlier than usual. Anyways according BBC this spring will be shortlived and we will have slightly cooler (not colder) weather from this weekend. Oh dear this sounds like the weather report.

I also went perfume sniffing to Montale and tried the latest Rose Petals - a gorgeous blend of rose and slight amount of oud (to my nose), I got to try Oud Lime and re-tried Purple Rose - that is a stunning fruity rose. Then went to the hip and trendy Colette to try Viktor & Rolf's much talked about Flowerbomb - it smells like a mix of POTL and Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle.
Then met a friend for lunch and had a great time catching up with her three month old gorgeous daughter. After that browsed some shops and then met another friend for a cuppa tea. We went to try L'Artisan's new La Chasse Extreme. It smells like the regular La Chasse with a lot more tuberose.

For all my friends in colder climes - I hope you enjoy weather like this soon. For friends in warmer climes - just enjoy what you have. I love springtime in Paris.

Spring is here in Paris

Everything looks, feels and smells different today - the wind blowing though the windows is spring like and I get the spring buzz in my veins. I am a spring baby hence I just love this time of the year. Paris looks so good now. I will be taking a few shots to share soon. Guess I had to share this today because all I can hear is laughter from the street below, see children playing without heavy winter coats in the maternelle across the street and the sunshine feels a tad warmer.
Am feeling good!

Have to share this piece of news...

After a long journey...

I had the most wonderful trip to India where I managed to work quite a lot and catch up with family. The more one visits India - the more involved one gets with all the chaos and then chaos becomes a part of your existence.
This time I visited Kolkata (previously known to mankind as Calcutta) and was amazed to see all the changes - some for the good and some not so good. All in all it is still a terrific city with wonderful people who have a fantastic sense of humour without which it is impossible to survive there.
